Android & Samsung Leaders in Global Sales
Global statistics for 2013 Q3 sales (vendor and operating system) have shown 2 clear leaders in the smartphone market, with Android continuing its worldwide growth trend and Samsung holding overal leadership in the mobile market. Figures indicate that in Q3 Android devices accounted for almost 82% of all smartphone sales, compared to 12% iOS, although the iOS numbers do not include sales of the recent 5s and 5c.
GLOBAL MARKET SHARE BY OPERATING SYSTEM Q3 2013:
· Smartphone sales were 55% of total mobile phone sales
· Android = 82%
· iOS = 12%
· Microsoft = 4%
· BlackBerry = 2%
· Bada = 0.3%
· Symbian = 0.2%
· Others = 0.2%
GLOBAL MARKET SHARE BY VENDOR Q3 2013:
· Samsung = 32
· Apple = 12%
· Lenovo = 5%
· LG Electronics = 5%
· Huawei = 5%
· Others = 41%
